One day a young frog, who lived in a pond, went to his father and said,
"Daddy, I saw a very Terrible monster."
He is as big as a mountain.
"He has horns on his head."
"When he stamps his feet with thumps, wow!"
Seeming very disappointed, the father frog answered as if to say it wasn't interesting or surprising at all.
"My son, it's an ox living on the farm."
"I've never seen such a terrible monster before."
"Ha-ha, good boy! He's nothing.
He's not so big. He's just a little bigger than me. Look at me."
The father frog breathed in air to blow up his belly.
"Was the ox as big as this?"
The young frog shook his head.
"Much bigger than that.""was he as big as this?"
"No, much bigger."
The father frog breathed in more air.
And not only his belly but also his whole body grew much bigger.
"Was he as big as this?"
"No, much bigger than that."
In order to make his body larger then the ox and show it off,
the father frog breathed in as much air as he could using all his energy.
"Probebly the ox wasn't as big..."
he stammered.
But his belly burst before he could finish his remark. Bang!
"Daddy! Daddy!"
The young frog cried very loudly.

The water was going to swallow up the whole world.
Fortunately, the tiger, lion, rabbit and deer knew there was going to be a flood and began running to the top of the mountain.

Everybody was relieved at the top of the mountain.
"Help. Help."

It was the dandelion who wasn't able to escape the flood like the other plants.
The water gradually reached the dandelion and the dandelion was scared.
"What should I do, I can't move."
The dandelion was still young so it couldn't move.
The dandelion was so scared, it clasped it hands and prayed.
"Dear god, please help me."
"If you save me, I will serve you for the rest of my life."
The dandelion cried and prayed.
Suddenly, thd dandelion was given wings and began to fly in the air.
It landed on the mountain top.
That is how the dandelion was able to live.
Since then, the dandelion always bloomed looking at the sky.

A fisherman living alone by a river caught a big carp.
'Probably I'll be punished if I kill this big carp.'On returning home, he put the carp in a jar to keep her.
One day when he returned home from work, he was surprised to see a meal already prepared on the table.
'Wow!!! Who prepared this meal in this house where I live alone?'
Next day the fisherman pretended to go to work but hid himself to carefully watch inside his house.
After a while the carp turned into a lady and got out of the jar.
She went into the kitchen and cooked food.
And after preparing a meal, she came back to go into the jar.
"Lady! Lady Carp!"
When the fisherman called her, the lady carp was surprised and said,
"I'm the daughter of the King of the Sea.
One day I came up to the river to see the human world, and you caught me there.
I'm really grateful to you for sparing me."
"Lady,
I live alone now.
I request you to marry me, please."
"But there is a precondition.
Never see me having a bath for one year.
Please!"
"I see. I promise I won't."
The fisherman began to live with the lady carp.
But one day when it was almost a year since then,
he made the mistake of peeping at her having a bath.
Suddenly she turned into the carp again and floundered.
"If you had kept your promise for one year,
I would have become a life-long human lady as your wife.."
At last the fisherman shed tears and let the carp go into the river.

TIme passed and the young man was about to get married.
The stories in the pouch began talking.
"We have to take revenge for being captured like this."
"I'm going to turn into a strawberry and make him die when he eats me."
"I'm going to became water and make him die when he drinks me.
"If our plans fail, i'm going to became a stone and make him die when he falls off his horse."
The stories were waiting for an opportunity to take revenge.
Fortunately, the servant heard the stories talking.
The servant went with the man to fetch his bride.
On the way, the man saw some delicious strawberries.
"I want to eat those strawberries!"
"Those strawberries don't look delicious. Let's just go."
The servant quickly took the man away.
"I'm thirsty, let's drink some water!"
"No, we don't have time."
The two arrived at the bride's house.
When the man tired to get off the horse, the servant carried the man.
The servant was able to prevent the stories from taking revenge.
The next morning, the servant told the man about everything.
The man realized what he had done was wrong.
After that, the man always told other people about the stories he heard.
That is how we are able to hear many fun stories today.

Bongseon had a talent of playing the geomungo.
People came to hear Bongseon play, but she was so shy she could not paly in front of other people.
One day, the king called Bongseon to the palace so he could hear her play.
"Will you play for me?"
Shy Bongseon carefully played the geomungo for the king.
But she was so nervous, she made many mistakes.
"It was a false rumor. That's terrible. Get out of here."
The king was angry. He scolded Bongseon and kicked her out.
Since then, Bongseon became ill and lay in bed.
She played well, but she had made mistakes because she was so shy.
"The king is coming. The king is coming."
One day, the king passed by Bongseon's house.
Bongseon heard the king was passing. She got up and gave all her strength to play the geomungo.
The sound was so beautiful.
The king stopped at Bongseon's house when he heard the music.
The king felt pity for Bongseon when he saw her fingers bleeding from playing.
He wrapped her fingers and praised her.
But, Bongseon had gotten so weak she died a few days later.
Red flowers bloomed from Bongseon's grave.
People thought it was Bongseon's soul. It is the touch-me-not.
That is why people still dye their fingernails with the touch-me-not.
Shy touch-me-nots burst out of surprise when people touch them.
